Open Air + Outdoor

On Sunday morning we took a walk over the bridge behind the sports centre and watched the dragon boat teams practising. I felt the moving air between my fingers and it felt so liberating to be outside. If you're working in an office building 5 days a week, it could feel so de-suffocating to feel the open air. We took a walk to the tube station and made our way to the garden. We saw children running around or riding their bicycles along the dock. We bought ice cream from the cart, where I dared myself to pick the lavender flavour, and I disliked it. The wind blew the rain trees, and it felt like the leaves and branches chimed in a tune that we couldn't hear. The weather was hot and humid, but we could enjoy the breeze under the canopy-like pathways that the trees formed. On Sundays like this, it makes me feel like I don't want the day to be over, but at the same time, I feel ready for Monday.

  1. Ahh, a day out sounds absolutely lovely right now. I've never had lavender ice-cream before -- is it really horrible? I hope you had as good a Monday/week as you did during this weekend!
