Main street corner : The Prayers
A bike blessing ceremony before a triathlon race.
In the corner where the pura (temple) lies, a pemangku (priest) praying for safety and the success of a marathon event.
Before an event, Baliness always sembahyang (praying) and hold a ceremony to pray for the success of the event. Anything. From full moon, build a new house, move to a new house, a new office, move a pura, demolish a statue, cleaning up a temple, sporting event, you name it. It is common for a sporting event organizer to hire a pemangku (priest) to lead the ceremony.
I love these pics - especially the ones of the bike blessing ceremony.
