Quiet + Corner

There was this one Sunday where I was waiting for Elizabeth nearby Duxton area just behind Neil Road. I sat at the bus stop facing the park where the pigeons gather and attack any passers-by who are holding food in their hands. I remember thinking that it was a bit odd sitting there on a Sunday when I could barely see anyone around. On weekdays, the places will be busy and tons of people passing by. Familiar faces and strangers walk. Residents around the area, the people who work in the offices nearby, the construction workers, monks, kindergarten kids with their teachers on an excursion, the patrol police officers, tourists, men in suits. But on weekends, all the shop houses are closed and the place feels like become a quiet corner sitting in patience. As if the world gives a space to the place to breath and recovers from the weekdays mundane. Waiting for Monday to come around again.
