Salt Water + Sand
I dipped my feet under the sunset light. There's a shadow from the time we spent here years ago. Occasional walk on a hot June evening, watching the waves and the lights turn from the distance boats, or waiting for the dolphins to show themselves. Whatever the reason was. The shadow wasn't a burden and the memories weren't haunting. There's a pang of agony, a nostalgic image, and a familiar smell. If there's a word to describe this feeling - this feeling of lost, with boxes of a happy memory of knowing that someone who now has gone loved you unconditionally. But still, you can't help your heart from hurting, and you're okay with it.
