1960's New Yorkers skateboarding style

skateboarding history came from California at the end of 1940. it was the surfers idea to create a sport that enabled them to surf even when the tide was low. so, they introduced a sport to ride and do some tricks on a skate board, which was known as sidewalk surfing.

skateboarding has become a lifestyle and sport right now. over the years it has become more and more popular especially among the youth. back in 1960 until 1963 over fifty million skateoboards were sold in USA. photographer Bill Eppridge captured the photos of New Yorkers riding the skate in 1960's. one time he handed the skateboard to Central Parks visitors. and you won't believe that back then they skated in style.
